In chapter 5 field producing informs the reader what producers job is to do and what field producing is. The main job description as a producer is they cover a lot of ground in public radio. Producers do the technical job such as mix pieces for broadcasts and book studio time. Jane Greenhalgh also had a good description what being a producer is and what you have to do as one. She states that as a field produces you do a lot of research and book interviews. As a producer you may have to go oh and gather up sound and help get the story together. She mentions how the field producer is really had to take part in every step except the host or reporter who writes the piece and voice it.
Margaret role points out how she felt as a field producer and what she does. She explains that she didn’t go on air because it was people who were better at it then her. They have to be efficient as possible in a place they may not even really know but that is what comes with the job description.
