The podcast I chose to do was the WASPs. It was a good choice because right off the bat they started off with audio footage in the podcast. In the beginning the podcast immediately starts the podcast with Elizabeth Air Taylor. It’s her getting ready to fire up the airplane and getting it ready for takeoff. You can hear the engine starting and the dog in the background barking, so it really keeps the person who is listening intrigued right from the beginning.
Also I think the fact they had old clips from Word War two made it interested to it was a nice look back at history and the united states was at the time. For example the women back then had to get the jobs they didn’t really want the men to do so they can just fight and help in the war. I say this because you can hear the radio announcer talking about and saying so that footage they had really was helpful because it is like they had the proof.
Another piece of great footage they had were action ones. For example they had audio footage of the the training practice at Fort Bliss. The WASPs were training young upcoming men who were training to be in the war. So the fact that they had the audio footage of the planes in the air and the gunfire coming from it to. Also the use off adding the commentary to that is what put the icing on the cake because he was saying what was happening so the addition of that really helped.
Overall the audio footage helped tell the story better. Adding footage of the airplanes, hearing the sound of the bullets and the commentary and radio announcing. I felt like they made the listener really want to feel like they was there and the story was told better from it.
